What is blogs submission and how it helps in search Engines?
Blog Submissions helps as this is a part of link Building activity. Blogs are expected to be updated daily or rather very frequently then a website. Regular updations renders the Spider/bots/crawlers of a search engine to return frequently and Cache the pages. This is helpful if you put the link of your website on such a blog. As the link would also be crawled by the bot.


There is no such list of blogs and you may not profit by putting link on to someone else's blog or forums as most of these places have a 'no-follow' tag (which means that the Crawler shall not consider any link posted on such a page).





For blog submissions you will have to find relevant blogs, search them on google.

not too many.. i keep a private dairy in paper form.. lol blogs r proly 1ce a few weeks. i dont openly advertise and i write mostly about life and what i'm thinking or feeling. sometimes i use it to raise awareness for certain good causes.

As a Pagan who blogs, I am seeing more %26amp; more blogs popping up in the Pagan Community. Some are excellent, some are... (no comment). I have found that blogs can be an excellent resource for networking with other Pagans, finding out about events happening in your area, keeping up with Pagan-oriented news, learning more about Pagan spirituality, and just being able to incorporate my spirituality into my daily life, just by being able to read what others write.





I'm curious to find out if others are also taking advantage of the "Pagan Blogosphere" and what you have found to be the pros %26amp; cons of doing so. Also... to find out if there are any great Pagan blogs out there that I should take a look at.

I like the Pagan Newsletter from About.com, it's full of links, and activities that are great for any pagan. It educates about sabbats and esbats, tips and tricks and such... I really like it. One of the best advertising writers in probably the world's most influential advertising job got fired after he made a joke about women. He said he had been "blogged to death".





Do you think blogs and the like have an impact on society, especially politics? I read about 4 different blogs? Do you read any?

Do things like Yahoo Answers, blogs, forums and chatrooms have an impact on politics?
Blogs and such definitely have an impact on politics as well as other social norms. I suspect there are two primary reasons for this:





1. Blogs can often unearth and call attention to things that the "mainstream" media overlook or ignore.





2. Blogs, and especially forums, can consolidate support for issues, providing a bond for people who are concerned about a specific issue but who had no idea if there were others who feel the same way about it.





I see both of these as very useful functions for promoting two of my favorite things: democracy and freedom of expression.

Reply:I think there is less impact on it. The main reason why this is because, yahoo is not putting any advertisement about the yahoo answers over other visual medias. Giving publicity to the yahoo answers on bbc or any such other medias will create more impact to the society.

I've seen several websites that offer both a forums and blogs. They allow their visitors to signup and post on both ends. What is the difference between the two? Should each section have their own different categories?

blogs are open to anyone to voice their own opinion on any topic....forums are specific to a topic/category.
Reply:Blog often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. On the other hand, Forum is an online discussion group, where participants with common interests can exchange open messages.
Reply:A blog is like an online diary, or musings from a specific person who initiated the blog. Then they can have forums, to discuss topics of the day, or reponses to specific topics of the day. I'm not sure I've ever seen just a forum that wasn't attached to a blog or a website. My opinion is they DO have different categories, (like look at the forum on www.pinkisthenewblog.com and see what Mary Smith had to say about the Tom Cruise wedding" for example)

How many blogs do you think is enough?

I like to blog what I think, what I discover. How many blogs do you think is too much or the right amount to not annoy people. I use Myspace only. I never put it as a private blog. I'm not a talkative person so I write stuff, just to release myself if you know what I mean. I usually write on the average of once every two weeks or whenever I have something xciting to say. But recently, I wanna write some more becuz i just wrote one today and then I want to write another.

I primary post my thoughts on to my blog, because I am afraid of that I will forget it few years latter. I have many blogs, most of them are backing up each others.





I have one blog for the IT stuff that I am afraid of that I will foget later. I have few more for families, and my travel blog. Each one of them have two version, one in English and one in Chinese. I have friends they only read in English and families only read in Chinese.





So I spent hours put up my blog. It depends on how much time you have. Just don't get tooooooo paranoid like me.





It's fun to write a blog and find out it appears on top of google search one day.

Reply:If you're talking about how frequently you should add new entries to your MySpace blog, well, do it as much as you like. Your blog, your rules.





If you want a *really* interesting blog though, you should post at least one entry every day. At a minimum.





And if you find you have something else to say, post it.





Makes for more to read, and even if your friends aren't willing to read as often as you post, they can come back when they want to and read a whole bunch of entries at a time.

Just look at other peoples' Myspace blogs to see how they're typically used.

So yeah, in a blog, you usually write things that have happened to you in your own life, or even random things such as a list of your favorite stores or the top ten reasons why you think your best friend's new dog looks like an oversized chicken (okay, I'm just throwing out examples, lol). Blogs are separated into different entries, with a date on the top of each entry... such as "Thursday, December 28th, 2006".





People can view your blog if you have one, and they can leave comments about it. Oh, also, I'm pretty sure you saw the thing called "Kudos" on Myspace. Those are basically like ratings to show how much the person who's giving you Kudos likes your blog entry.





You can either give 2 kudos, 1 kudos, or none, on Myspace.

A classroom to learn about blogs?

I'm just wondering if there's a structured program out there that teaches you anything and everything about blogs -- the entire overview. It would start with 1) researching the topics, to 2) how to set it up as a business to 3) how do design a custom user-interface, to 4) the top blogs, 5) their valuation models -- you know -- it would just cover everything. Market research, journalism tips, SEO, etc. Have you heard of anything like this?

I'm not aware of a class that is devoted entirely to blogs. I'd recommend taking classes in marketing and computer science. Your first stop will be learning HTML coding, you can find a free class online, then look at other blog websites. Create blogs on the sites out there, look at features, ask people why they use certain blogs over others.

I think you try very hard to make your points on subjects, and the blog isn't that bad with the exception of some connas, capital letters that don't need to be, and too many spaces in some places.





Try to use you MS-Word spell check more often, but remember, some words although spell check says they're fine are actually the wrong type of word.





Go back over what you have and see what you can clean up in the blog. You have a great attitude. I think Lori Seaborn makes some good points as well. Her's, like mine, is constructive criticism.





As far as the other's who answered, remember this, they've actually done you a favor. A critique can be as cutting as a sharp blade. Learn to get used to it. Writer's learn to live with this with everything they write. If you can get one of these people to tell you that you did a great job . . . and mean it . . . then you're on your way.

What programming is used for blogs...?
A simple blog is a mixture of HTML, PHP, and MySQL. The design template is most likely CSS to allow for exact detail customization. The PHP allows for the least amount of pages, using include, fetch and print commands. The MySQL is the database used to allow users to signup and maintain an account. These have to be secure and should be encrypted.





Shopping carts are also used over MySQL databases and Service Side Security Encryption. They also use the mixture of HTML, PHP, and MySQL.





RSS is Really Simple Syndication. RSS is used so the user who subscribes to the RSS feed is updated when the RSS XML file is updated. RSS also makes it easier for search engines (Google) to add their blogs to the index.





Drupal and SimplePHPBlog are good blogs to look over for scripting, as they are written very well.

Yeah they take them themselves, but them, steal them. You can find what ever picture you want and use. It maybe be copyrighted but chances are slim that they'll catch you, unless your not a risk taker.

Yes, but it isn't easy...and it doesn't pay very much. I have a technical blog ( http://www.gavaghan.org/blog/ ) that uses Google Adsense for advertising revenue. A few things you should know:





1) I've been writing for several months, and it's only been since December that I've generated any serious traffic. It takes several weeks for all of the search engines to pick up your site.





2) You need to have compelling content that people want to read. If it's just an online diary, then you haven't really distinguished yourself from any MySpace page. If you have a lot of knowledge about a particular field or hobby, let your blog show that expertise.





3) I doubt I could ever make enough money to live off of blogging. The real benefit has been professional credibility. A blog can be a smart idea if it enhances your regular job.





Look for a Web host that provides WordPress - that's the blogging tool I use. GoDaddy is one provider, but there are others.





Also, consider link exchanges and a tool called Zeus. Getting others to link to your site increases your search engine ranking.





One last thing - I saw your previous question mentioning you'd like to write a novel. How about using blogging software to write a story as a series of installments? Isn't that how Charles Dickens wrote "Great Expectations"? That ought to keep regular readers coming back (and boost your traffic).

For GIFS, there are two main methods but they require that your images are hosted via an online hosting service like Flickr (http://flickr.com ), Fileden (http://www.fileden.com ), and Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/ ), as they allow hotlinking of files (meaning a direct link to the image on their servers):





1) Check out the 360 team post on dragging %26amp; dropping photos into blogs: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-1qCkw2Eha...


* This method allows many photos to be used in an entry, with your choice in placement. Make sure that you are using an image that's on it's own page (not on a page that is shared with others). Why is it, pepple have to write hate blogs about crtin people or things? Like, can't they keep feelings to themselves? Please don't hate this question or leave rude comments. I just wanna know why.

I don't necessarily write hate blogs, but most of my blogs are kind of negative. I think you find that most forms of expression are based on a tension in one's life- the simple fact is, when you're happy you're too busy being happy to record it in words, right? Most people write something because something is on their mind. It seems like people 'feel' happy and 'think' upset, if you know what I mean.

I currently only have one blog, but I've had more in the past. I've always kept a general one for the various goings-on of life, but those other ones I've had in the past have been more specific; for example, I had a blog for my dreams, and another one that was for photos. I've thought about starting up with the dream blog again, though.





I blog about most anything if the mood catches me. Stuff I've been doing, stuff I'm planning to do. Family, friends, school. To-do lists, opinions on things, ideas I've had. Online surveys and quizzes. There really isn't a subject I won't touch.





I don't really let people know about my blogging except for some close friends that I have who also blog. It's a good way for us to keep up with what is happening with each other when we aren't able to sit face-to-face and schmooze. I mainly blog just for personal satisfaction, and to keep a record of what's been going on in life. It doesn't matter to me who's reading or who isn't.

i dont do blogs but i hve a couple friends that do and theyre mildly popular...and basically they talk about their lives. their friends, families, hobbies, "who pissed them off that day" lol, who they are crushing on...basically anything significant that happens to them...and some of them are set privat so only their chosen friends can see them.





but it sounds like u want a public one so...first word of mouth is important. Ppl have to tell ppl about.





Second, If u want ppl to continue to come to ur blog u might want to make it entertaining in some way. If ur witty or funny that would help alot.





Third, post it on myspace and make sure that u let all ur myspace or facebook friends see it. thats the easiest way actually. Just friend request random ppl, they usually just hit accept...and send them a mesage letting them know about ur blog. If they like it and find it entertaining they will keep coming back..and telling their friends.

I have three friends now, that their blogs are stuck on an old date, and I can not see any of their new blogs?

I have contacted each of them, I am listed as their friend, and they don't know what to do to fix the problem. One friends blog is stuck back in January-when ever I go to her blog it always takes me only to that blog, even if I try to go to the calender it won't let me click on a current date, or any date after the one it is stuck on. Help I want to read my friends current blogs. This week this just started happening to one of my favorite friends, so now can not read her blogs

I've heard of this happening. The only thing I can suggest is to send beta feedback, including links to your friends' pages.

I am trying to find blogs that I had written about 9 months ago when i found out i was pregnant with my daughter. She passed away 2 weeks ago, and I would like to be able to go back and copy them so that I can put them into her scrapbook so that I can go back and look at what I was feeling and what the day was like during her pregnancy. I don't have many memories of her because she was only 11 days old, so it's very important to me that I get these. Right now, i can only go back to the blogs that I wrote in august up until the present. Any help that I can get on this would be of great help to me.

First of all, I want to say that I'm so very sorry for your loss. That breaks my heart to hear that, so I hope I can help you. Have you tried using the calendar feature on the left-hand side of your blog pages? I would recommend checking that to see if you can use the 'back' arrow on that to go back as far as you need to go. If that doesn't work, I would contact Yahoo technical support and ask them. I can't imagine the blogs would disappear, maybe they have them backed up on a server if you can't find them in your 360. If it's like my company, you need to give them a date (hopefully a "roundabout" time frame), and they can hopefully retrieve your information from that particular date. Good luck, and again, I'm very sorry for your loss. *hug*

I had the same problem and contacted the Yahoo 360 team via their "YAHOO 360 HELP FORM" at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/for... . Basically, it's an ongoing bug. Keep in mind that 360 is still in beta. They also have a blog which tracks fixes as they are made, see http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 .





My temporary solution: First, contact 360 via that "YAHOO 360 HELP FORM" so they can look at it. It will likely take a day or two. Then, post another blog entry or edit the last entry you made (delete or add a sentence, then re-save). It always resets everything for another 4 to 5 days. Then, of course, it will disappear again.
