It seems the word Blogs is a common expression. Showing my ignorance, Can someone give me a clear understanding of the meaning of (Blogs)

The meaning of Blogs?
Blogs are like an online journal where people with too much time on their hand type about their days. I normally blog when I want to rant. Common blogging sites would be Xanga or LiveJournal.
